The internationally distinguished museum, Cleveland Museum of Art or “CMA” is located in the heart of Wade Oval in University Circle. Renovated in 2013, the museum itself can be regarded as a work of art. The building blends steel, wood, and glass framing to create more than 592,000 square feet of show space. With collections that are constantly changing, CMA organizes its pieces into 16 departments constantly visible to the public. In addition to the collections of art, Ingalls library, one of the largest art libraries in the United States, is nestled near the entrance of the museum. Exhibitions, the library, and occasional film broadcasts are all what make CMA one of the most visited museums in the world. General admission to the museum is free to the public. However, entry to specialized exhibitions come with a small free. For lunch, dinner, or a snack visitors can enjoy a variety of foods from Provenance Café located on the main floor of the museum. The café offers everything from fresh salads to gourmet desserts. All foods in the café are locally sourced, and main entrees are globally inspired, changing day to day. On a rainy Cleveland afternoon, there is no place better to keep oneself entertained!
